Parents lay eggs alongside cliffs hanging over the ocean. The spikes make both parents job easier since both need to catch enough food for this little guy everyday.

As they get larger and get closer to fledging the spikes drop off like antlers. The spikes get in the way from swimming and flying.

Puffins are my most favorite bird in the world!! They fly and!!! They swim very well! Well enough to catch fish to eat! Have you ever seen them at Sea World?? They are soooo cute!

When I watch nature shows I see the poor puffins getting harrassed by birds who want to steal their hard earned catches and hurt their babies. So! I added on a turtle shell to make them extra tough!

Mermaid Borg

I drew this upon special request from a star trek fan forum I partake in.

I accepted because in the Star Trek world the Borg never assimilated any intelligent lifeforms from fluid filled planets. It created an interesting challenge.

The Borg would have if their technology was advanced enough to be worth taking. I'm sure attempts were made early in the Borg evolution history. Their efforts proved somewhat disastrous by our standards. To capture these people the Borg had to fly scout ships(spheres) deep into the watery planet. Stunning them, trying to tractor them onto the ship so they can inject them with nanites. The intense pressure crushed over a dozen spheres. As the shielding technology improved they would try and try again.

"We will succeed."

So they have. The Borg understood that these creatures (adapted to water) are no good on the dry decks of ships. Their body shape is unnecessary in the vacuum of space. Considering the initial difficulty of assimilating the people and the planet... they decided best keep these creatures and use them for what they were perfected for, the assimilation of other fluidic civilizations.

Problem: Packing their bodies full of hard dense technology slowed their movement... ruins their aerodynamic design..

Solution: Give them their own propulsion system. So that's what I did... I'm not sure about warp technology but maybe an impulse drive... it may sting when activated... but I'll let others continue this tale.
I Heart Hubble! The work of Hubble only proves that God(if you believe in him/her/it) wants us to to have science and build powerful machines to explore space. God is Science, Science is God there is no division.

The Eagle Nebula is so awesome... The creation and death of star systems and the formation of planets are incredibly violent events. Things smashing together, matter spewing, splitting and re-smashing again. Continental drift... plate tectonics. The violence is what creates life.
I had time to kill at work on Monday.

Decided I should model something
Then i thought about my sketches on deviant art... I have a 3 page series of drawings about a lil girl and her robot.
Well I already have a girl made for my thesis. Finished modelling and texturing this morning.

I came up with a story a while back where the parents of this girl gave her a robot nanny cause either they were too busy with their jobs or such socialites that the mom wanted nothing to do with her so this girl is literally raised by this robot
she grows up learning science and engineering to take care of her robot that has problems now and then.

The robot is genderless, emotionless, but with a feminized male voice. He is concerned about the childs emotional developement and learns how other humans act to better guide her, through observation. Basically its Data.

I'm giving him to Katie of my Intrepid story. She had to leave Crayon at home while on a class camping trip that sends her to Zeba's world. That's the inciting inicident. She's fully alone...ostracized.
